Our Spring 2012 Class Schedule is broken down into categories at different experience levels. You can browse for classes online by selecting a catalog of classes below. Series classes are designed to be taken all within a short period of time and must be purchased as a package. Call us to schedule your classes.

Advanced Wedding Series Overview

Our Advanced Series focuses on more advanced topics in the floral arts. It presupposes knowledge of hand wiring of flowers as well as familiarity with the florist's knife. This series includes the design of a cascading bridal bouquet done in a natural organic style, the use of fresh flowers for the hair, including wiring of flowers, flowers for the ceremony and the construction of an arch for a church wedding and a Chuppah that can be used indoors or outdoors. Weather permitting; we do this class in nearby Tudor City Park.

The Advanced Series may be taken as a three-class series or a four class series. Select a series below to make your online payment. Classes in this series may be taken individually, when space is available, for $300.00 per class. If you would like to sign up for an individual class, call us at 212.661.8074.

  • Class 10: Wiring Flowers for Hair and Corsages and Boutonnieres (AS3040)

    1. Review which flowers are best to use for the hair
    2. Demonstrate how to wire flowers for better control and easy pinning.
    3. Class will create different designs with different flowers for various bridal styles using advanced wiring techniques.

  • Class 11: Decorating Ceremony Site with Flowers (AS3041)

    1. Create a look for a traditional wedding
    2. How to make pew ends and use flowers to create an organic look
    3. How to make large ceremony site designs using chicken wire, branches and flowers

  • Class 12: The Cascading Bridal Bouquet (AS3042)

    1. A design for a cascading bouquet for the bride, making the traditional look modern.
    2. How to create a bouquet made of hand wired flowers and greens to give them the cascading look
    3. Advanced wiring techniques

  • Class 13: Chuppahs and Flower Covered Arches (AS3043)

    1. Construct a chuppah and decorate it in a lush and traditional style.
    2. Constructing the chuppah structure to withstand wind and weather elements.
    3. Flower decoration of the chuppah using water tubes for longevity.

    Weather permitting; we will do this in Tudor City Park.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Refunds are credited back to the card the same day they are charged.  However, students who cancel seven days prior to their scheduled class will receive a full credit toward another class at FlowerSchool New York.  Students who cancel anywhere between seven and two days before the class will receive 70% credit toward another class.  Students who cancel within 48 hours of their scheduled class will receive a 50% credit toward another class.
