Lewis Miller
Lewis' vision of a country life in a metropolitan setting is the hallmark of his design aesthetic at LMD New York. In this video, Lewis will show viewers a design that illustrates his unique style while teaching how to make it cost effective. The first design will use a taped grid system and common flowers of the same color palette. According to Lewis' philosophy, "There is no such thing as a bad flower, just bad combinations of flowers." This video will also teach how to make a vase that is covered with a leaf wrapping, a particularly popular style right now. In this arrangement, the vase seems as one with the flowers. A list of materials, flowers, general quantities and brief descriptions are listed below.
This second design will show students how to create an abundant, asymmetrical and loose arrangement that is more textural and poetic with the use of both flowers and vines. This video will teach how to design around one central element, such as a vine, and use foraged materials.
Phoebe Crary
Phoebe Crary, an alumna of FlowerSchool New York, opened Opalia Flowers in 2006 in the BoCoCa section of Brooklyn, NY. Her style evokes a rustic setting that suggests the flowers were cut just outside in an abundant garden.
In this video, Phoebe will demonstrate different floral wiring techniques for boutonnières and corsages. She will demonstrate different styles, techniques and compositions using a range of materials. Phoebe will create five different designs. Each one is appropriate for a different season and style.
