FlowerSchool New York is thrilled to announce our second annual trip to Holland and France.
This year’s annual Study Abroad to Holland & Paris will be from April 24th – May 3rd. During our time abroad we will immerse ourselves in the history and beauty of florals from thecanals of Amsterdam to the boulevards of Paris. A few highlights of the trip include:
A private tour of the Aalsmeer Flower Auction where we will get a behind-the-scenes look at this integral aspect of the floral industry.
Lunch at the prestigious restaurant, Restaurant De Kas, led by Michelin rated chef, Gert Jan Hageman.
Floral design workshop with master florist Rob Plattel held at the beautifulHistorical Garden Aalsmeer.
“Finding Inspiration in Amsterdam” with Matthew Robbins. Matthew will give an inspirational workshop pairing European influences with American sensibilities.
Private tour of the famous Keukenhof tulip fields. The largest bulb flower park in the world with 4.5 million tulips of 100 different varieties.
The College Hotel. One of Amsterdam’s most prestigous hotels located in the heart of the De Pijp neighborhood.
Rungis Flower Market with Christian Tortu. Under the professional guidence of Christian Tortu, we will purchase flowers at the largest fresh product market in the world.
Private Tour of Giverny. Monet’s home and most famous source of inspiration, this once in a lifetime tour will be given by Christian Tortu, a member of Les Amis de Giverny (the Friends of Giverny).
The Pont Royal Hotel is located in the historic Saint-Germain section of the Left Bank in Paris.
“Perfume Ateliere” with Meredith Perez of Belle Fleur. Meredith and perfumery ‘Noze’ will will teach the students how to prepare a perfume brief that encompasses our time in Paris. Using the theme ‘An American in Paris’ we will develop a perfume that students will be able to take home with them as a memento of the trip.
