Drama with Peonies with Oscar Mora-June 4, 2015

What more can we say about peonies? They seem to be almost everyone’s favorite flower and at the time of Oscar Mora’s last class they were in their height of season glory. As always with Oscar, he gave us a demonstration using several large vases with a variety of flowers starting with one of my personal favorites, mock orange branches. Added to the seasonal and dramatic mix were peonies, two different types of roses, and hydrangeas.

We all created our own compositions of peonies of several different colors with deep dark purple calla lilies as bold accents. The fish bowl shaped containers set off the peonies stylishly and we all toasted his lively class with plenty of Champagne. What’s not to love?
