Livia Cetti’s second class for us on January 8th was a wonderland of exquisitely detailed paper peonies made from her hand-dyed selection of delicate papers. As you can see from the photographs, the flowers all turned out to be magically realistic, almost ethereal in their blended colors. Each petal was meticulously wired into the base and all the mechanics of creating the flowers including the stamens were obscured by the students’ nimble tape and wire workings. Livia learned her techniques for making paper flowers by working with real flowers for many years and she is very generous in passing down her knowledge and techniques to our students. We are excited to announce that in her next two classes on March 11th we will be making poppies and roses.
