In this five day series with Loulie Walker, founder of Loulie Walker Events, students will learn the art and business of event planning. This series will include planning lessons and tools for corporate events, weddings and social events (bar/bat mitzvahs, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.), as well as non-profit events.
During the course, students will learn how to create an event storyboard, draft floor plans using floor plan software, develop an event budget, source and evaluate venues and vendors such as caterers, floral and lighting designers, photographers and the like, and build foundation documents including planning timelines and run of show. At the conclusion of the course, students will each present a custom event incorporating all the above and based on provided event type, venue, and guest count. Top vendors who work alongside Loulie on her vendor teams, will make appearances as well to talk about their professions.
