FlowerSchool New York’s “Art & Flowers Master Class Series” is designed to give students a unique experience that combines the talent and design aesthetic of a Master Florist with some of the world’s most influential and iconic fine artists. Each florist will find inspiration from one of their favorite artists and create flower arrangements that evoke a moment, feeling or emotion reminiscent of those artists. Each class will interpret and bring to life the essence of a fine artist in a unique way through flowers. Join us to experience iconic Vincent Van Gogh unlike any way before and learn these artists’ impact on some of New York’s most exciting and influential florists. All of our teachers are multi-talented and bring something new and exciting to their specific artist’s vision.
Vincent van Gogh painted some of his most iconic images while at the sanatorium in Saint Remy during the spring of 1890 using sunflowers and irises as his subjects. Remco Van Vliet, a Dutch-born florist who is the in-house floral designer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will bring these paintings to life in this class which addresses the origins of creativity and the nature of genius.
