Some of the most beautiful spring flowers arrive in the flower market in early February. We have available to us all the most exquisite early spring blooms including mimosa, gorgeous French tulips, ranunculi, muscari, anemones and flowering quince branches. We are excited to have Kiana Underwood of Tulipina Design back at FlowerSchool New York to lead this program!
In this two-day workshop we will cover color theory, and the fine art of choosing colors and textures to design within an edited palette. Together with Kiana, we will shop, design, style and set the table, all while factoring in the season, the food, the flowers and the table decor elements.
Students will visit the flower market on 28th Street to select flowers with Kiana. Back at FlowerSchool, we will condition flowers and prepare the floral designs together under Kiana’s guidance. You will learn the proper way to use a pin frog in creating compote designs. The overall table design will involve selecting linens, china, candles and more. This extensive event design program will take you through Kiana’s creative design process and execution, then will culminate with a delicious dinner prepared for us by one of New York’s finest private chefs. Flowers, food and wine are all included and there is to be no cleanup afterward!
