Program Overview

For Beginners

New to floral design? Take our Beginner’s Open Studio class to learn tips and tricks for better designing.  This fun studio class provides the opportunity to create a beautiful, seasonal arrangement while learning some basic design principals.

Offered throughout the year, including seasonally themed classes and some Spanish-language options. Private and group sessions are available by request!

Foundation Floristry

From introductory to intermediate and advanced levels, these courses teach students the best practices and fundamentals of floral design including how to correctly handle and care for flowers, use tools such as the floral knife and clippers, condition flowers for optimal vase life, and a master 9 design styles to get you started in the world of floral design.

Master Classes

Learn the best in style and trend from the world’s most celebrated designers! Master Classes are unique two-hour programs taught by one of FlowerSchool’s esteemed Master Florists. Here, students have the opportunity to work one-on-one with one the world’s most celebrated designers in an intimate setting. Master Classes are open to all levels of skill, intended for those who have a true passion for the art of floristry and want to learn techniques directly from these accomplished designers.

Workshops

These continuing education classes focus on a particular floral genre or method, and are geared more towards professional florists or enthusiasts looking to hone in on their craft. Courses vary in required skill levels.

Study Abroad

FlowerSchool provides unique experiences abroad visiting the world’s most vibrant floral communities including Holland, Mexico, France, England and Japan.

Floral Design Program

FlowerSchool New York’s Floral Design Program is a carefully designed series of courses to prepare students for careers in the floral design field certified by the New York State Education Department.
