Join FlowerSchool NY for a beginners class in horticulture! Create a terrarium with premium materials and learn about the art of these ecosystems.
Explore the miniature world of terrariums! In this hands-on class, you'll learn the art of creating a small
scale ecosystem using lush ferns, mosses, and other moisture-loving plants. We'll cover the fundamentals of
terrarium construction, including layering techniques, plant selection, and ongoing care, so you can craft your own beautiful and thriving glass garden to take home.
This is a great way to introduce yourself to FlowerSchool New York and the world of floral design & horticulture!
Students will:
Learn tips and tricks to better their designing at home
Use fresh seasonal orchids
Take home home arrangement sized for a coffee or side table
Each design will placed in a shopping bag for easy transport home
About the instructor:
Kianna Gonzalez is a horticulturalist and landscape designer, with passions in permaculture, floristry, and herbalism. She is the owner of Green Thread Gardens, a landscape design and consultation business and is a proud graduate of the New York Botanical Gardens’ School of Professional Horticulture. With a degree in Fine Arts, Kianna is driven by unique and creative ways to use plants in all facets of her work. She loves sharing that excitement and creativity with others.
