The Flower Shop Series will take students through the workflow of running a flower shop in a simulated environment. This business management program is intended for students interested in working in a flower shop and learning necessary skills, including wrapping orders for delivery, managing orders and having an authentic flower shop experience. All students will learn to write a business plan to put their ideas in motion. Students will learn these skills through classroom teaching as well as hands-on practice taking & fulfilling orders. If you are interested in working toward a career as a florist, gaining confidence as a florist, or just practice in making professional arrangements, this program is for you.


In this class, you can expect to {1} practice taking orders for your flower shop, {2} fill your “orders” by creating arrangements per the budget and requests of your “customers”, {3} work on building a business plan for your future floral business, considering your business’s mission, financial objectives, strategy, and start-up requirements.


What you can expect:

  • 2 Days of Class, split over 4 sessions (allowing 1 hour lunch break each day)

  • Hands-On lessons, all taught by a Floral Design Expert

  • Floral aprons, tools, and other supplies will be provided for use during this program. Please note that personal sets of supplies to take home are only included with enrollment in our 2-Day Introduction to Design Series.


What you will learn:

  • Designing floral orders & purchasing materials within budget

  • Floral shop skills, including standard pricing practices, presentation, customer expectations, vendor relationships, & time management

  • Business practices, including cash-flow management, organization, business planning, and project management software experience

  • Delivery program techniques

  • Day 1: 10:30am - 4:00pm

  • Day 2: 10:30am - 4:00pm
