This 80-Hour Event Design Intensive is crafted for florists, caterers, event planners, and creative spirits who dream of designing immersive, one-of-a-kind events. Whether you're building a career or curating magical moments for the love of it, this hands-on program will ignite your imagination and sharpen your skills. You’ll learn how to turn big ideas into reality—mastering workflows, project management basics, and insider secrets that bring every detail together seamlessly. From mood boards to final moments, you’ll leave ready to design events that truly move people.
Week 1: Core Floral Design Training
Introduction to Design Series (2 Days) – Master the fundamentals of floral arranging, including vase work, flower handling, and essential design techniques.
Intermediate Design Series (3 Days) – Learn more advanced arrangement styles, floral sourcing, building recipes, and navigating wholesale platforms.
Conditioning Lab & Introduction to Freelance (1 Day) – Explore flower care, project management, and freelance best practices.
Week 2: Advanced Design & Business Building
Advanced Design Series (2 Days) – Develop your personal design style, explore high-end techniques, and push creative boundaries.
Floral Photography & Marketing (1 Day) – Learn how to professionally capture your work and promote your floral brand across platforms.
Week 3: 5-Day Event Design Series
Led by the FlowerSchool & ILA Penthouse, and celebrity designer LaParis Phillips of Brooklyn Blooms, this immersive week-long project takes students through the full event planning process—client intake, budgeting, vendor relations, production schedules, and tabletop design. The week concludes with a live mock event presentation evaluated by industry professionals. Students will build a client proposal, design concept, sample tablescape, and walk away with real-world tools, templates, and a final presentation portfolio.
