Join acclaimed botanical artist Wendy Hollender to celebrate the launch of her new book, The Album of Plant Families! This stunning poster-sized volume depicts 24 plant families commonly encountered in the garden and in the wild, revealing the shared traits of flowers within the same family.
Wendy Hollender is an experienced and highly sought-after botanical art teacher who teaches at the New York Botanical Garden, as well as destination workshops at beautiful venues in Hawai’i and Spain. All skill levels are welcome, especially beginners!
Guests will learn how to observe and illustrate flowers with watercolor and pen, with all materials provided. Start with simple geometry and quick sketches to warm up, followed by more detailed drawings of flowers. Afterwards the class is invited to enjoy a reception with wine and charcuterie, with an opportunity to chat with Wendy and admire each other’s art.
