What can I expect in a beginner class?

Your class will be led by a professional floral designer. The class consists of 30 minutes of demonstration and one hour of design time with one on one instruction. Please note, the arrangement pictured is for inspiration—varieties, color palettes, and final designs will vary by class. Flowers are purchased the week of each session, so specific flowers and colors cannot be guaranteed.

Do I need any prior experience?

No prior experience is necessary to join a beginner class. Beginner classes are the best place to start your floral design journey. A professional florist will guide you through expert techniques you need to create a beautiful arrangement.

What do I need to bring?

FlowerSchool prides itself on providing students with the full professional experience. We provide students with state-of-the-art clippers, aprons, and knives for use during the class. If you’re interested in purchasing tools, check out our merch available for purchase and pick-up in the studio.

Will I be able to select my own flowers?

Which class is right for me?

We offer floral design classes for all levels of experience. The Introduction to Design class is a one time, hands-on experience perfect for anyone who is looking to make a nice design with premium flowers in a casual and comfortable setting. These flower design classes are often themed and geared toward beginners, though experienced florists participate as well.

Can I take my flowers home with me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You will create an arrangement that is yours to keep, including the vase. We will provide each student with a custom carrying tote to bring your arrangement home.

Question 7

How long will my flower arrangement last?

Accepted Answer

Flowers should last anywhere between 5-7 days if cared for properly. The water should be changed, flushed out, every other day. Flowers should always be drinking clean, clear water to preserve their longevity.

Can I take photos during the class?

I’ve taken an intro class and I’d like to learn more. What should I do next?

You can continue taking Introduction to Design classes and learn additional flower arranging essentials. If you want to level up your skills, we recommend that you take our 2-Day Introduction to Design Series.

Question 10

I’m a beginner. Can I take a Master Class?

Accepted Answer

You do not need to have experience to take a Master Class with a FlowerSchool Master Florist. The Master Class programs are design-focused and prior floral design experience is not necessary.
